Car shoppers have not had the chance to test-drive the 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR...

The high-performance Range Rover Sport arrives at Land Rover dealerships in the spring with a price tag of $111,400, including a $925 destination charge.

It is set to compete with the BMW X5, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, Mercedes-Benz M-Class and Porsche Cayenne.

The 90-second video is designed to show off the Range Rover Sport SVR's "adjustability, poise and body control," the company said.

Mike Cross, Jaguar Land Rover chief engineer of vehicle integrity, takes to the Rockingham track in the Range Rover Sport SVR.

"As this footage shows, the Range Rover Sport SVR takes this level of performance in its stride, displaying superb on-the-limit balance, even with its comprehensive range of electronic traction and stability aids turned off," the automaker said.

This is the first model to wear the new SVR designation, which will appear on all future Range Rover high-performance models.

The four-wheel-drive Range Rover Sport SVR features a 550-horsepower 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The company said the SVR can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
