Spec-tacular Eddie Redmayne and wife Hannah Bagshawe touch down at LAX Airport ahead of the Oscars

He is the man of the moment and nominated for the Best Actor gong at this evening's Oscars.

But Hollywood star Eddie Redmayne looked completely chilled out about the whole thing as he touched down at LAX Airport on Saturday with wife Hannah Bagshawe.

The 33-year-old actor, who has been given a nod for his role of Stephen Hawking in the biopic The Theory of Everything, wore a stylish denim jacket and black-rimmed specs.

He was rocking an open blue shirt and khaki trousers with scuffed brown shoes while his wife was also dressed casually in jeans, a black top and dark shades with a leather jacket and black ballet shoes.

The pair were met by the paps as they made their way through the terminal and Hannah was carrying two large black bags - no doubt her glamorous outfit for her red carpet appearance with the actor.

Eddie and Hannah will be two of the hottest stars at tonight's gala and the star couldn't stop gushing about his other half during a recent interview ahead of the big event.

Talking about how she deals with life in the limelight, he said: "She is so mellow with this stuff. I think I get more, like, sort of nervous about it than she does.

"She is so beautiful and looks amazing in whatever she wears as far as I'm concerned so she's kind of chilled out about it. She's like relatively calm but I think she is very excited about the prospect of wearing quite a beautiful dress."

Eddie has tough competition in the Best Actor category tonight but he is favourite to win at the 87th Annual Academy Awards.

The star is up against hunk Bradley Cooper (American Sniper), Steve Carrell (Foxcatcher) fellow Brit Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game) and Michael Keaton (Birdman).

Eddie has been praised for his role in The Theory Of Everything in which he battles with a motor neuron disease and stars alongside the talented Felicity Jones and Stephen's wife Jane.
